Prickl

Privacy policy

Effective October 18, 2026 · Applies to the Prickl iPhone app, getprickl.com, and websites we host for Prickl businesses.

The short version

Who we are

Prickl is made by North Beam LLC ("we", "us"). Questions about this policy or your data: ops@getprickl.com.

What we collect

Your account

Your email address (you sign in with a one-time code sent to it), your name if you give it, and your settings, such as your time zone and how often you want reminders.

Your business

Business name, phone, address, logo, trade, your price list, and your estimates, invoices, jobs, tasks and notes.

Your customers

The people you work for: names, phone numbers, email addresses, property addresses, gate codes and notes, the work you did, and their estimates, invoices and payments. You decide what to add. We hold this information on your behalf to run Prickl for you, and we don't contact your customers except when you ask Prickl to send them something, such as an estimate or invoice.

What you tell the assistant

The messages you type or dictate to Prickl and its replies, plus short notes it keeps so it remembers your business (for example, "Sandra's gate code is 4422").

Your email inbox (optional)

If you connect your own email account, Prickl reads that mailbox, including your sent mail, to find commitments you've made and turn them into tasks, and it can send email you ask it to send. You connect it with an app password from your email provider; we store that password encrypted (AES-256) and use it only for your account. You can disconnect at any time in the app and revoke the app password with your provider.

If you don't connect a mailbox, emails you send through Prickl go out from a Prickl address (for example, yourbusiness@send.getprickl.com) with your own email set as the reply-to address, so your customers' replies come to you.

Location (optional)

If you turn on location reminders, Prickl uses your phone's location, including in the background if you allow "Always", to remind you when you arrive at or leave a place you've saved. Photos you take in Prickl can carry the location and time they were taken, which Prickl stamps on the copies it shows. You can turn location off in your iPhone's Settings at any time.

Photos and files

Photos, videos and documents you add to jobs, customers and properties.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, we store your device's push token so we can send reminders.

Payments

When your customers pay an invoice by card, the payment is handled by Stripe. Card numbers go to Stripe, never to us; we receive the result (paid, amount, date). If you take card payments, Stripe also collects the business and banking details it needs to pay you.

How the app is working

Crash reports and error details (Sentry), and product analytics with session replay (PostHog). Session replay records how the app's screens are used so we can find what's confusing or broken. What you type and your photos are masked; other text shown on screen, like a customer's name in a list, can appear in a replay.

Your website and its visitors

If we build a website for your business, we use your business details and your public Google business listing to write it. When someone fills in the contact form on your website, their name, contact details and message go to you in Prickl.

Text messages

Prickl doesn't send text messages for you. When you tap to text a customer, your phone's own Messages app sends it.

How we use it

Who we share it with

We share information only with service providers that help us run Prickl, under contracts that limit their use to providing their service, and when the law requires it. We don't sell personal information or share it for advertising.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your information while your account is open. To delete your account, email ops@getprickl.com from your account's email address. You have 7 days to change your mind. After that we delete your account, your business records, your customers, your files and photos, your websites, your sign-in, and your payment-processor customer record. We keep:

If you're a customer of a business that uses Prickl and want your information removed, contact that business. They can delete it in Prickl, or you can email us and we'll pass the request on.

Your choices and rights

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, email app passwords are encrypted at rest, and access to your data inside Prickl is limited to your account. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.

Children

Prickl is a business tool for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we make a meaningful change, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app or by email before it takes effect.
